10TH SOGCE-SPE KLS Volunteers, MEM Volunteers & Delegates

The 10th Sabah Oil, Gas & Energy Conference & Exhibition (SOGCE) took place on 8th and 9th June at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC) in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. The event, organized by Midas Event Management (MEM), focused on the theme of "Energy Security & Sustainability in Oil, Gas & Energy Industry in Sabah." It served as a vibrant platform for industry professionals, experts, and students to discuss and tackle the challenges facing the energy sector in Sabah.

SPE UMS SC Club was thrilled to be invited as volunteers at the event, actively participating as SPE KL Section Volunteers and MEM Volunteers. With immense enthusiasm, 17 members of SPE UMS SC dedicated their time and efforts as SPE KL section volunteers, while 11 members volunteered under MEM. Their commitment and passion contributed to the successful execution of SOGCE.

The Energy4me Programme, organized by SPE KLS, was a definite highlight of SPE UMS SC's involvement. This program aimed to educate secondary school and university students about energy conservation and the future of the oil and gas industry. The engaging sessions and discussions left a lasting impact on the participants, fostering greater awareness and understanding of energy-related issues.

Another remarkable initiative was the NextGen Energy Leader (NGEL) Programme, organized by SPE KLS. This program provided young professionals under the age of 36 or with less than 10 years of work experience with a unique platform to engage in industry discourse and network with esteemed energy professionals and like-minded peers. The NGEL Programme equipped participants with valuable insights and networking opportunities, empowering them to become future leaders in the energy industry.

SPE UMS SC also set up an engaging booth at the event, offering a space for interaction and knowledge sharing with the conference attendees. The booth served as a hub for showcasing the society's activities and achievements while providing a valuable opportunity for attendees to learn more about SPE UMS SC and its initiatives.

Furthermore, a group of 40 students from the third and fourth years of oil and gas engineering enthusiastically participated in the SOGCE event as delegates. This experience allowed them to explore the exhibition, attend enlightening conference sessions, and establish connections with industry professionals, enriching their understanding of the oil, gas, and energy sector
